Lingyin Temple, located in the northwest side of the West Lake, is also called the “ Yunlin Temple” and it is a famous Buddhist temple in China. It belongs to the West Lake scenic area and also one of the famous ancient temple in Jiangnan area.
Lingyin Temple is firstly built in Dongjin period ( AD 326 years), and it has a long history of about 1,700 years. It is the earliest ancient temple in Hangzhou and also one of the top ten ancient temples of the Zen Buddhism in China. Located in the west of the Lingyin mountain of the West Lake, with its back is BeiGaoFeng and faces the Peak Flown From Afar and both two peaks carrying sceneries to decorate the green forest and trees, deep mountains, ancient temple and various cloud. The Lingyin Temple nowadays are rebuilt on the basis of the reconstruction in the late Qing dynasty. Its distribution are similar with the jiangnan temple pattern, which divided into three main halls on the central axis of the temple, in turn, for the great hall, Ursa major, YaoShiDian three main halls: the Tianwang Hall, the Daxiong Hall and the Yaoshi Hall.
